Senior iOS Engineer

Muhammad Afham

I build aesthetically refined, obsessively polished subscription apps for iPhone and Mac, where engineering, UX, and revenue are the same discipline.

Selected work

Apps people actually use.

Consumer creative tools, fintech, and open-source SDKs, each shipped to real users at real scale.

Kinde iOS SDK

KindeOpen source · Auth SDKSwift Package + CocoaPods

My role: I developed Kinde's open-source authentication SDK for iOS. I implemented OAuth 2.0 passwordless flows that stay secure and pleasant on mobile, generated a type-safe API layer with OpenAPI Generator, and wrote the unit tests and release documentation other developers depend on.

WOQOD

Qatar FueliOS · Fintech

My role: I worked on the official app of Qatar's national fuel company, where drivers pay at the pump without leaving the car. I shipped scan-to-pay with Apple Pay and push notifications, revamped the UI end to end, and hardened the payment surface with SSL pinning and jailbreak detection.

Invoice Maker: Billing App

Content ArcadeiOS · iPadOSSubscription app

My role: I built the template system for this small-business invoicing app: 30+ invoice templates as fully responsive native UI, with one layout system rendering pixel-precise documents from an iPhone SE to a 12.9″ iPad Pro.

Experience

Since 2019, without pause.

7 years across consumer creative tools, fintech, and developer SDKs.

Senior engineer across client products. Shipped WOQOD's scan-to-pay with Apple Pay and hardened it with SSL pinning and jailbreak detection, built Kinde's open-source OAuth 2.0 SDK with OpenAPI-generated APIs and full test coverage, and moved the whole workflow AI-first with Claude.

Consumer creative tools at scale. Built Logo Maker's multi-layer editor and iCloud drafts sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, cut its app size in half, and shipped Invoice Maker's 30+ responsive templates. First deep dive into subscriptions, paywalls, and what actually converts.

About

Engineering is a design discipline.

I've spent 7 years on Apple platforms because they reward the thing I care about most. The last 10%. The animation curve. The haptic. The layout that holds on every screen size. That's usually where an app stops being functional and starts being good.

The work kept following a pattern. Something genuinely hard under the hood, like layer systems, iCloud sync, OAuth flows, and payment security, made to feel effortless on the surface. Users never see the hard part. That's the point.

Somewhere along the way I fell into the business side of apps. Paywalls, trials, StoreKit, and the A/B tests and BigQuery funnels that prove which of them actually convert. It turns out shipping beautiful things and shipping profitable things are the same skill, practiced twice.

These days I work AI-first, with Claude, Claude Code, and the modern toolchain, for deep research, rapid prototyping, and shipping AI-powered features. It multiplies what one engineer with strong design instincts can deliver. This site is the proof. Researched, designed, and built exactly that way.

Outside of client work I'm driven by fitness, creativity, and art, and by building indie apps and mentoring engineers who are earlier in the same journey I started in 2019.

Beyond code

Trained eyes, fast hands.

The hobbies aren't random: they're all reaction time, framing, and craft.

Table tennis

Milliseconds matter. Same reason I care about 120Hz scrolling.

Tekken 8

Frame data is just performance profiling with a health bar.

Photography

Composition, light, and restraint. The same rules as good UI.

Videography

Pacing and motion. Every good app transition is a good cut.

Poke around my Mac.

A tiny macOS, built from scratch for this page. The windows drag, the dock magnifies, the clock is live, and everything links somewhere real.
